Brittany and Matt’s story began long before either of them knew what it would grow into. They first met in 1997 at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, where they went to church together as kids. They even shared the stage in a church performance—an early moment that would later become a favorite memory, especially the time Brittany tried to hold Matt’s hand and he promptly ran away.

Life eventually took them in different directions, but fate wasn’t finished with their story. In August of 2022, they reconnected unexpectedly at a mutual friend’s house. What started as a simple reconnection quickly became something more, and by October 2022 they were spending time together regularly. On November 4, 2022, their relationship officially began.

Since then, Brittany and Matt have built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. They’ve traveled together to Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, New York, and Alabama, including two magical Christmas trips to New York City. One of those trips became unforgettable when Matt proposed at Bryant Park on December 13, 2024.

Their family has grown along the way. Brittany brought Elsie, their beloved dog, into the relationship, and in May of 2025 they welcomed Milo as a new addition. They also share a love for their cats—Gus, who keeps them entertained, and Pumpkin, who will always be remembered and dearly missed.

Outside of home, Brittany and Matt love cheering on their favorite teams, whether it’s attending Alabama football games (Roll Tide!) or Carolina baseball games. They’re also passionate travelers, especially when it comes to the mountains, which is why choosing Whittier, North Carolina as their wedding destination felt like the perfect fit.

As they look ahead, Brittany and Matt are excited to begin a new chapter together by moving to Greenville, South Carolina. With their growing family, shared traditions, and a lifetime of adventures ahead, they’re grateful for a love story that began years ago and found its way back at exactly the right time.
